I have just returned from a wonderful Cuba trip. I enjoyed this beautiful part of Cuba. For me it was a perfect combination of culture, nature and dance.
Immediately after the start our Cuban dance teachers Yunior and Yuya traveled with us. They gave extra atmosphere to this trip. Especially in the evenings we went to the best locations and danced continuously with everyone from the group.
Thank you for this intense holiday, and till next time.
My first tour with Dance4Two had 7 destinations in two weeks. Holguin Bayame- Santo Domingo- Santiago de Cuba- Guantanamo- Baracoa and Gibara. What a fantastic trip. Every destination was a surprise.
We stayed in a beautiful hotel in the center. Our guide Luis showed us the highlights and we climbed the famous stair case on the Loma del Cruz. The first night was in centro Benny More. It was a success with dance shows and live music.
What a wonderful city. Away from tourism, we stayed in the excellent hotel Royalton, discovering the city, visiting the wax museum and of course enjoying a drink on a terrace. The highlight was a visit to Casa de la Trova, where a concert, and a free dance class was given, especially for our group.
Villa Santo Domingo
With extra strong old American taxis, we went to the Sierra Maestra, almost at the top in the middle of nature Hotel Villa Santa Domingo. What an oasis of peace, I never heard so many birds singing. In the afternoon we went swimming in the river.
The next morning we went with a guide to Parque Turquino and Comendancia de la Plata. Here in the mountains Fidel Castro started the revolution.
Santiago de Cuba
In Santiago we stayed in very nice Casa Particulares near the dance school of Dance4Two. A Cuban dance partner was available for everyone. We danced on the roof terrace, in the sea, during live concerts, and at the street. Santiago has stolen my heart with his friendly people.
Another good hotel: Hotel Marti. We crossed the Guantanamo Bay base. We walked through the city for two hours, and pasted dance history: Casa de Chanqui, Tumba Fransesa and Casa de la Trova. When the local disco turned out to be empty, we danced on the roof of our hotel.
Beautiful town, beautiful nature, and a lovely beach. In Baracoa we stayed in Casa Particulares again. We visit the cozy city, walking, along the Malecon. Swimming in the pool with the best view you can think of. A boat trip on the Yumiri river is also on the program and is a unique experience. Eating langoustines at the beach, dancing in Terraza, and Casa de la Trova, it is all fantastic and the reason we had to stay there for 3 days.
A last surprise. What a beautiful hotel Hotel Arcenita is, and what a relaxed environment. It is wonderful to end the trip here, explore the village by horse-drawn carriage, go to the beach, and go dancing on the Malecon of Gibrara. Gibara is the max.
Muchas Gracias a Yunior, Yuya y Bernard.
Hasta la Proxima
